ISRO Invites Applications from Students for Two-week Free Online Course on Remote Sensing and GIS Technology

ISRO, through its Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), has invited applications for another free online course called "Fundamentals of Remote Sensing and GIS Technology". This course is intended for students who are interested in space science graduates and undergraduates. There is a limited number of seats available because candidates will be introduced first when they arrive.

 

This study will be conducted from 14 to 28 September 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm daily. All authorized participants must log on to the IIRS E-CLASS portal with their credentials during live hours. The E-CLASS platform will automatically record a participant's visit according to their attendance during the session and their presence during the session. Typically, attendees are marked as present after 50% of the total session time. Participants will receive an ISRO certificate upon completion of the course.

Participants in the study will study the following topics in two weeks:

 

 An overview of the Indian space plan and its applications.

  1. The basics of remote hearing techniques.
  2. Fundamentals of the local information system.
  3. Remote sensor platforms and sensors.
  4. Great styles in remote hearing technology.
  5. Digital image processing for satellite imagery remotely.
  6. Geodata management of open source GIS software.
  7. Overview of GIS data analysis.
  8. Geodata online room with ISRO Bhuvan portal.
  9. Overview of cyber GIS.
  10. The use of geospatial technology in science.

How to apply for the ISRO Free Online Course in Remote Sensing and GIS Technology

Interested participants will be required to register with the official website by providing their personal information such as email address and mobile number.

Participants will receive a registration number for successful submission of a request such as web page display and email message.

Participants can then open their account by clicking on the link that will be sent to the registered email address.

Once the account is open and email is verified, the application will be available through the selection process at the institution, the course coordinator, or the administrator who may approve or reject the request.

All authorized participants will receive an acknowledgment email with their login credentials for the IIRS E-class platform.
